Camper’s Paradise: How to Prepare Campgrounds for a Holiday Season

The leaves are changing color, the air is getting cooler, and pumpkin spice everything. It’s starting to pop up in the stores. Yes, it’s officially fall, and with fall comes one of America’s favorite pastimes: Camping.

Camping can be a great way to get outside and enjoy nature, but if your campground isn’t properly prepared for a busy holiday season, you could be in for a long and frustrating few months. In this post, we’ll discuss some tips on how to prepare your campgrounds for the influx of holiday campers. KOA reported that there were over 25 million people camping over Labor Day in 2022. Halloween and that crisp fall air are your opportunities to bring those people back to your park and create traditions. Make sure you have events planned each weekend leading up to and including Halloween.

One of the most important things you could do to prepare your campground for a busy holiday season is to make sure all of your camping sites are clean and well maintained. This means mowing the grass, trimming the bushes, and raking up the leaves or debris. You should also check that all of your camping equipment is in good working order. This includes your WiFi, your picnic tables, and your campfire pits. Nothing is worse than arriving at your campsite only to find a yucky picnic table or that campfire pit is full of ashes or trash.

Another important tip for preparing your campground for the busy holiday season is to stock up on supplies. This means having enough firewood to last the entire season, as well as plenty of camp food and snacks in your camp store to stock up on those s’mores essentials. Campers that love to come over the holidays may decide to make this a tradition. This is your one chance to make a good first impression on them. By following these simple tips, you can ensure that your campground is ready for the busy season.
